Owl Pellet Dissection Think Tank Workshop

The Bird Pass is the ultimate opportunity for kids and families to learn about the fascinating world of birds. With a Bird Pass, explorers will get the chance to take part in an Owl Pellet Dissection Think Tank Workshop to discover how owls digest their food. They can also soar with real birds on a 3D adventure in the KeyBank Discovery Theater and take home a pair of binoculars to continue their exploration of the local bird life from their backyard.

Breathtaking Migration Patterns and Science of Flight

EarthFlight 3D takes viewers on a remarkable journey that reveals the incredible migration patterns of birds as they traverse continents and continents to find food and shelter. Through stunning visuals, viewers will be able to witness how birds use the science of flight to navigate their way around the world. The documentary also looks at how birds work together with other animals to survive and thrive in different environments.

EarthFlight 3D is a documentary that uses birds as the stars of the production.

Using revolutionary techniques and state-of-the-art cameras, viewers can experience the breathtaking migration patterns of birds and the science of flight that goes into navigating whole continents and working with other animals for food.

Build Your Birdhouse with Wood and Recycled Materials

The East Toledo Family Center is proud to announce its upcoming Tinkering Takeover, where attendees can build their birdhouses with wood and recycled materials. This is an opportunity to flex your creative muscles and give feathered friends a safe and warm place to nest this spring. Not only that, but you can also experiment with electrical components, learn to code a robot, and even become an engineer – all for free and open to the public! So don’t miss out on this unique chance to get in on all the action!

Animal Life Cycles Grades K-3

The Science Center invites families of children ages 3 – 5 to discover the world around them and ignite their imaginations with free Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) programming. On May 13th and 27th from 11am-noon, these young scientists will be able to explore and learn about animal life cycles in grades K-3 from 10:30-noon. They will gain new understanding and even have the opportunity to get up close and personal with some animals that undergo metamorphosis.

Nitrogen Life Cycle Program

On May 18th, explore the wonders of the nitrogen life cycle with an exciting educational program for grades 4-8, from 1:30-3 pm. Discover how this essential element is used and travels through living and nonliving parts of our environment, and witness amazing demonstrations along the way! Then, on May 18, take a thrilling journey into the world of archaeology as Indiana Jones embarks on his quest to find the Lost Ark of the Covenant. Enjoy this epic adventure on the GIANT screen of the KeyBank Discovery Theater with doors opening at 6 pm; arrive early to get your movie snacks, your beverage of choice (a cash bar is available), and a special photo opportunity with snakes from Frogtown Exotics.
