Taking Part in Community Outreach
Toledo Bikes is proud to be participating in community outreach programs this spring, educating local elementary school students on bicycle repair basics and providing mechanical and ride support at the 14th Annual Toledo Ride of Silence. As a demonstration of their commitment to the cycling community, they are honored to be taking part in this worldwide silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph) in honor of those injured or killed while cycling on public roadways, held during National Bike Safety Month. While the shop is closed Wednesday through May 10, Wednesday, May 17, and Wednesday, May 24, it will be open Saturday from 12 pm to 6 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 4 pm for customers’ convenience.
14th Annual Toledo Ride of Silence
Join us on Wednesday, May 17 for the 14th Annual Toledo Ride of Silence! Starting and ending at the University of Toledo Area 1 North, cyclists will gather around 6:30 pm and ride off promptly at 7:00 pm. Participants can enjoy a slow-paced ~8-mile course with escorts from the Toledo City Police, Ottawa Hills Police, and UT Police. Helmets are required and the event is free and open to the public – no registration is necessary. Furthermore, there is a Ride of Silence in Bowling Green on the same day, departing from City Park.
