The Imagination Station proudly presents its annual Superhero Day, a day for youth to discover their inner hero and explore various career paths. This year’s event features visits from Spider-Man, Toledo Fire & Rescue Department members, and the Ability Center’s Assistance Dogs. Kids can learn what it means to be a hero in an inspiring atmosphere that encourages bravery and courage!
Setting a Guinness World Record in Toledo
Imagination Station is proud to present the captivating ‘Science of Guinness World Records’ exhibit. Visitors can learn about renowned world record holders and the science behind their impressive accomplishments. As a testament to its commitment to the environment, the museum also set a goal to place Toledo on the Guinness map – and succeeded! In a fitting nod to its namesake, Toledo now holds the world record for most glass bottles recycled in an hour.
Explore Potential Futures in STEM
Imagination Station is proud to present its annual Girl Power! STEAM Career Day, provides girls in grades 3-8 the opportunity to explore potential futures in STEM. This inspiring event provides hands-on workshops and networking with female professionals, not to mention a visit from a NASA scientist as this year’s keynote speaker. Beyond the walls of Imagination Station, their Science On-the-Go program brings interactive exhibits and educational programs to schools, parks, and even virtual events, spreading the love of STEM far and wide!
Tinkering Takeovers
Imagination Station is proud to partner with area YMCAs and libraries, thanks to an Institute of Museum and Library Services grant, to host exciting Tinkering Takeovers. Participants can program robots, power buzzers, and switches, or use their engineering skills to bring a motion to reality! Additionally, teachers love Imagination Station’s curriculum for grades K-5, which can include virtual 45-minute programs like Exploring Weather with kindergartners and teaching fourth graders all about fossils, complete with Q&A and extension activities to increase student comprehension.
Discover Your Place in Space
Imagination Station’s STARLAB® portable planetarium offers students the unique opportunity to discover their ‘place in space’ right at their own school or youth organization. Perfectly suited for gymnasiums or other large community rooms, this 16-foot-diameter inflatable world allows instructors to share exciting stories about our galaxy while teaching lessons in geology, geography, and astronomy.
